Whew, it sure seems like I have been out of sorts for a long time…and the truth is, I HAVE! And honestly, I miss my WordPress writing!
Some very exciting things have happened to me in the past couple of months which unfortunately left my loyal readers to probably wonder where I had gone. I wish I had not been forced to take such a long break, but I am sure everyone will understand.
After working very hard for the past year I was finally able to escape the corporate job that was just not cutting it for me anymore. I was able to gather enough clients and enough steady work to be able to turn in my two weeks notice at the law firm. I am now officially a solopreneur, work-from-home-mom, full time writer. Exhausting right?
Well, with that taking place I was on a definite roller coaster. I had to finish out my job and prepare everyone for me leaving. And while I was not the boss of the place, I felt that leaving on the best terms possible with as much work finished as possible was the right thing to do. After all, I didn’t hate my job, I just wanted something more out of my life!
New Schedules
After quitting my corporate job my freelance job went into super overdrive. Not only was I trying to adjust to this new schedule, while taking on the extra roles of being at home with my son (score!), I had a ton of work that was due like…yesterday.
And, as much as I wanted to post on my blog (and boy do I have some great ideas lined up) the truth is, paid work had to come first because well, deadlines are important to me, and this was my paying job now…I had to work and make money!
Settling Down
Now that it has been a minute or two, I have had some time to catch up (for the most part) and set out a normal schedule for myself. I have intentions of writing on a regular basis here on my website about all sorts of topics that are WordPress related. Reviews, tutorials, opinion pieces, and news…it is all going to be right here so be on the lookout.
In the meantime, thank you to all those that have continued to view my website and to those who have patiently been waiting for me to share more with you about this wonderful thing we call WordPress.
I could not be happier to have achieved my dream of working from home and I am only going to build myself up from here. If I can achieve what I have so far, in the short time span of one year, while working full time and caring for a little human that needs me all of the time, I can only imagine what the future brings for me and my family now.
